One of the few places I have never been to in Thailand is Ko Chang- until now. I flew down to Trat with my delightful girlfriend then onto Ko Chang to do a bit of snorkeling (not that I needed an excuse) and have to say I was suprised at how developed the island was, with a pretty good infrastructure and real roads which is nice when you are used to the dirt tracks of Samet.

I convinced my lady that we should stay somewhere nice as she is well overdue a holiday and a crappy room was not an option. After a bit of research we booked the seaview resort and spa  which turned out to be a great choice. The room we stayed in was a deluxe 2 with point blank views of the ocean and small islands. A nice point (I thought anyway) was that you can have a soak in the huge bathtub and look out into the horizon and watch the amazing sunset.

The food and service there was the best I have experienced in Thailand for a long time. Its a bit on the expensive side, but in my opinion worth every Baht, and for that romantic getaway its guaranteed to impress.
